Thanks strig, I highly suggest visiting Banff at some point in your life. You could spend a month there and still not see everything.
Great pics !!! And a beautiful family you have !! I have some absolutely fantastic memories of hiking around Banff !!!!!!
I was there before The Aussie Mafia took over. I was initially staying in Cochrane (flew into Calgary from Oregon), my ex girlfriend me and we went for lunch with her friends there they were all apparently waiting on the accent to arrive....LOL She was a Kiwi, grew up here in Aus but the accent from the land of the big fluffy sheep stayed, and had explained that I would sound much more as they expected an Aussie to...I didn't disappoint. An interesting aside, I was staying with friends of mine in Oregon and they ended up pulling me aside and asking what was up, you see my daily vocabulary includes the use of the phrase "gidday mate" or "gidday dickhead" or "gidday SIR" as the case may be. I had become just a little self conscious about it after a month (between Oregon and California) of being introduced to people and saying "gidday, nice to meet you" and seeing the smile or laugh. I had conciously toned it down a little....apparently I was 'disappointing the crowd" and was directed to return to my normal manner. Of course that would mean when when someone says something astounding or unusual and many of the quaint folks I met in the US and Canada would say "no way"....the Australian of course says "f#ckoff that's bulls#it". It took a little education around the Australian use of profanity and how it was less about the words than it was about the inflection of the statement....
