this is what drives me nuts when pack / bag MFG's do not THINK about what they are designing. There is ZERO reason there should be an ODD number of vertical PALS/MOLLE rows on gear.

The ENTIRE Pals/Molle/webbing attachment system should have a GLOBAL size and fit ISO standard.

Anyone have any experience with Mchale packs? Are they worth it?

A while ago I added a closed cell foam pad to keep stuff from jabbing me. Today I finished trimming it to keep it more hidden.

If anyone is looking for more of a travel pack vs outdoor pack take a look at these brands.

Evergoods, Aer, Millican, Peak Design, Heimplanet, Arktype and Mission workshop...

As far as backpacking bags go, I spent 2 months (800+miles) under this one. ULA Circut. I believe it was around 2.5 pounds empty. Pretty good pack and held up well to everyday hiking. IMG_4807.JPG IMG_4893.JPG IMG_4308.JPG

I love it but I'm not sure I would buy one again. They run close to $500cad now and there are certainly other great options for that price

The Khard is still my favourite pack too (and the SFA my favourite axe!), I haven’t found anything thing else that comes close. I’ve been using the Khard at work in the woods regularly now for a couple of years and my biggest worry now is wearing it out, the price right now for a new one is outrageous.

Yeah the new assaults have ditched the interior lid pocket and made the outside lid pocket smaller. I would probably look at Hill people gear now or maybe one of kifaru offerings
