Did a overnighter in the Cederberg area last weekend. Just me and the wife. This area is located in the northern part of the Western Cape, South Africa. This area is very well known for hiking and rock climbing and has some very unique rock formations. We did a route that starts off by going up a very steep mountain, a long distance on the mountain and down into a ravine on the other side to the Matjies River. It was a bit hectic, because there is no clear route to follow and the terrain is very rough and dry. Once you go down the ravine to the river...It's like heaven on earth! Nobody around for miles. On route to the base of the Mountain Going up the mountain On top looking down the way we came Ridge line Some of the weird looking plants along the way Down in the ravine looking back at the way we came down The Matjies River Our Spot for the night next to the river Cooking some sausage on the fire and had lots of Red Wine Note the wire we used as a makeshift grid. Getting ready for the hike back Sorry no knife pics.....I know, I know took my Mora Bushcraft Black and SAK Farmer Thanks for looking!
