It's cool to see the way that the Ruger Carbine is developing, and the new versions with free-floating M-lock handguards definitely open up possibilities. I bet they'll sell a bunch of them.

However, for me at least, a PCC needs to offer significant size/weight savings over a rifle, or else much of the advantage is lost. If I'm going to carry something that is as big as a rifle/carbine, and weighs as much as one, I may as well get the rifle cartridge benefits as well.

When comparing a pistol caliber carbine to an AR, or AK, there seem to be no weight benefits. This is why I got rid of my JR 9mm carbine. If I'm going to lug the weight, I want a rifle caliber. The exception to this is my .357 lever gun. It's just fun.

I got the new Midwest Industries Rail for my PC-9 and the Bolt Handle,
Feels really good. Also got some more DuraCoat to match the rear stock.
