A while back I modified my Estwing double bit axe into a lethal yet utilitarian tomahawk.

now while Estwing does make several tomahawks, I didn't like the design, nor did I like the cutout of metal in the head. Had Estwing left the metal in the head, I would have bought that model.

The modded "spike" is about 3/4" wide , and is very useful for gouging out wood (bowls , notches etc), as well as its lethality in soft tissue penetration.

I call it the "Disembowler" tomahawk.

Nasty looking "spike", I like it. Will do damage for sure.

That’s actually a really good mod. Way more useful that a double bit in that size range. I need a soil breaker way more often than an extra edge on mine. ( condor tac axe)
