Such a beautiful cascade. I can sit by those for days and just watch and listen. Better than TV.

05.18.18. Got out to my Twin Pines Experimental Camp (TPEC) around 14:00. Worked on the site and connector trails (now over 1000 m) all afternoon amid a swarm of vicious, blood-seeking, blood-sucking blackfies. (Vampires that fly like A-10 Warthogs.)

That's a neighbor's porch rocker. Not my style for camp, but trying to encourage the tenants in the building to get out more.

Got the hammock up. Laid in it for a while, but felt the cold coming -- we're expecting frost tonight. Came back to Base Camp Studio at 19:30 for food and extra layers along with the underquilt with the intention of going back out there for dark.

Food was too good, and I realized how tired I was/am, so stayed, ate, drank, looked at the images.

Here's the best one of TPEC. This is less than 100 m from my studio, out in the backwoods, N Maine.

By the way: that's not a "yard/lawn", but a woodland on the edge of the property (contiguous with several hundred acres of woodland, and numerous square miles of it on the other side of the highway). If you see bare ground there, it means I've raked it. Same for all the trails.

I'll go back out in the morning for more work, including a video about the hammock -- among numerous other things.

Hey @BlueDogScout , it changed a LOT today from the video you watched that I shot yesterday.

Took the family for a nature walk yesterday. We are fortunate to live a couple minutes from a provincial park that crosses the entire south side of the city. You wouldn't even know that you are sorrounded by nearly 1.5 million people.

Every year they close off a bunch of trails and make a bunch of new ones. Makes it fun for people who have been coming here for years

Son took a nasty bite from one of the largest and most aggressive black racers I have ever seen. This is one bite to give you an idea of the head size . B241EB54-73B7-4C66-A5BF-3331D2383225.jpeg
