Just got back to East TN after a month in MI and WI. The highlight was a week with friends in Manistique Michigan at a great Campground on Lake Michigan. Weather was perfect and there was lots of day trip things to do. Visiting lighthouses and their history being my favorites.
That was one of those clean out the cooler breakfasts. A little bit of this, lots of eggs and cheese. One of the people that we were with has about every cooking device known to man. Gas, wood fast cooker, slow cooker you name it.
After we left MI we stayed one night at JW Wells State Park on the MI, WI border. Great views of Door County from the north peering south. We then stayed at a Campground Park near Sparta, WI on the Fort McCoy Army Base, it is open to the public. Very nice facility. That was one of the signs addressed to the Mil vehicles leaving Base Property headed into the World. It's tough out there. Zombies and drunken woodsmen.
The first day at Pineville/Fort McCoy we were serenaded with many bursts of heavy machine gun fire. The next night was quiet until......explosion and the ground shook! Don't know what it was. Demolitions? Army trains about 150K soldiers per year at this Fort which is over 100 years old. During WWII German officers were held here. There's a movie Fort McCoy.
