    Is that something just MA requires? I just got the tax stamp for mine. Course that was 20 years ago.

    Humm I couldn’t find a class 3 thread on here. But I do stink at finding that stuff. Not sure what they did before or if it’s just MA or not. But to get your ma machine gun license you first need class A LTC then you have to be a bona fide collector and then you can apply for a class 3 threw the town. you can also go for a class 3 by being an instructor/ something else but it’s a little harder to go that route so I was told. So I’ll figure out something
    I’m a bona fide collector so that should be enough for class 3

    Federally you just have to have a standard Federal Firearms License and be a class 3 dealer (SOT) in order to sell title 2 Items.
    Just owning a title 2 item only reqiure's a federal Tax stamp. Federally.

    I think (obviously not from first hand experience) that you will require a FFL with the appropriate endorsements (SOT if you want to do more than transfer the items in and out). As I understand it the ATF frown on such an FFL when it is used as a hobby tool (certainly lots do) and not an income generating mechanism (ie a business).

    @Frigin
    I know a number of years ago When I wanted to build one of the 10/22 Kit Gatling guns. I had to dig into the local regulations and found stricter local laws. On top of the federal rules If I remember correctly the local police chief Had to sign off, you had to have a approved and then inspected safe to store the FFL item in. You were also required to notify the local police every time you transported the item from your residence. Approved transport containers etc.
    I did not want to go through all the hassle so I never did build it. That said my big takeaway then and would apply to now is to make sure you have a good plan and way to secure it at all times. Make sure you can thoroughly explain that plan If required.

    The other day I was scrolling fb and a wish ad came up, they were advertising monocore fuel filter suppressors and auto Sears. I thought that was pretty crazy. Or possibly a sting operation.

    ..... this would be my first guess. A bunch of people out here were rounded up for the maglite " oil trap" things.

    Yeah there is now way they aren’t rounding up names and info on people for the “paintball” or “pellet “ auto sears. And the oil traps. As mich as I want to buy a oil trap lol

    so on the class 3 for my area. There is two ways. By being an instructor you can get a class 3 for teaching purposes. But that way is very hard you have to have intent and show you are teaching and have lots of proof.
    The way I’m going is a collector and that I am. With the C&R FFL I’m able to ship some guns to my home for my personal collection and not for retail sales. That’s what that specific FFL is for. So now all I have to do is have my local police approve a class 3 for my collection.
    I really wished I lived in a state where I could get suppressors. I mean I know there probably not if of a deal or all they are worked up to be but when I can’t have something I want it even more .....or are they....

    If you had a 22/45 with a .22 can on it you'd have to invest in a few track suits. Who needs that.
