Great! Feel free to throw a photo of it into the mix here.
I want this new 30/30 with a threaded barrel.
Have you handled current production Marlins? I wouldn’t waste my money.
New stock cuff from Badger Claw Leatherworks:
Very nice !!!
My favorite hunting rifle is a steel receiver Henry .30-30 with ghost rings. Her name is Sarah, and she fits me like a glove and handles like a dream. If Henry ever comes out with a steel frame side gate, I'll pick one up, but until then Sarah reigns supreme.
Not a big fan of current Winchesters- too expensive IMO for what they are. Ditto with Marlin, just don't feel right. Henry actions are nice and slick, they feel good and are made well for a fair price. Plus they're made here- I'm not a hardline USA made or nothing kind of guy, but it is nice to support American workers. My first rifle was a Minibolt from back when Henry made their stuff in Brooklyn, considerably before the move to Bayonne. I've got history with the mark, and they haven't let me down.
I have had good luck with mine. I have an old one also. I think my new one is just as good and finished better.
My Schrade Bear Paw has the same exact serial number.
Was it made in 1925 ?
No, you got me on that one. More like 1975.
Was it made in in Ellenville NY ?
It must have been if it is that old... my great uncle worked in that factory.
Yes, but was only marked Schrade U.S.A. I believe most of the true Schrades were made in Ellenville until their closing in 1986.
Zeek, is your Great Uncle still alive? He would be a wealth of information.
No he's is not...
Marlin model 93 in 32 HPS
Had to go look that one up. Beautiful firearm!!!
Family heirloom or something new. That's one sweet Lever.
