Whipped dog is near me. They have good stuff but get it set in the handle as far as possible or it will be floppy.
Occasionally, brushes get gunked up and don't absorb water right, so they don't lather right either. A simple wash with your favorite shampoo will do wonders (it is hair, albeit animal hair) after all. Hard to go wrong with a Simpson's brush. I like badger better than boar, but haven't went crazy silvertip ultra badger yet. I switch between soaps and creams, with Edwin Jagger sandalwood cream being my favorite treat. Proraso in the green tub used to be my favorite soap for summer because of the menthol and the cooling effect it had. Been experimenting with Cremo Creme found at Walmart by luck -- and they now have original and cooling. Not quite the same as Proraso, but still nice.
I'm a huge fan of the Semogue boar brushes. I would recommend the Owners Club boar brush or the 2000. They are both reasonably priced and are very well made. With a boar brush you will need to spend some time breaking it in. I just lather up using a normal shampoo a good 5-6 times before using the brush. Onc these boar brushes have been used for a few weeks though they will become really soft, as soft as a good badger brush. They work well using hard soaps and creams.
My razors. Top one is a Kinfolks Blue Steel I picked up from whippeddog.com. Great business, btw. The other 2 are a new Boker King Cutter and Boker The Celebrated.
I have not restored my Carbo Magnetic as of yet. The two smiling razors are from the early 1800s. The big straight 8/8s are some of my users the 4/8 French point is a trim razor.
Just ordered a soap and aftershave tonic from this company. They get very good reviews. Worth a look. https://store-56wdfp9hyo.mybigcommerce.com/
i almost never shave, but of the few blades i've tried, i liked Wilkinson sword the best. guess i'll get a sampler pack some day.
Ive wanted a nice razor before but when you stop shaving it becomes a little odd to want one. These pics make me want one again. Maybe ill start shaving my legs again.
