Nothing special, but IIRC everything was already in a plastic bag when I got it. I only took the scales off once - just to see what everything looked like - but that was a while ago so I might be wrong about the bag.
Thanks for sharing this. +1 on the Tek-Lok, I love those things. The tip on attaching the pouch is also appreciated, I've wondered about using one with the LS sheath. Now I know.
Side note: if you haven't attended a Ditch Medicine class you are preparing for tragedy. Get up there and learn how to save yourself and your family.
Sorry I just saw the post where you explained the process How do you get that pitting/patina...nail polish and etching solution? I'm sure this question has been asked over and over there is probably even a thread somewhere. I'm pretty new here and haven't seen one yet. I love This! I would really like to try this can someone get back to me and give me some pointers or point me towards a thread the explains the process. Thanks
That being said I fu***ng love my laser strike I've done a couple mods. Although its been under very neglected compared to my 4 and IZ. Love the feel of TKC scales ( not that the ESEE scales weren't great). I'll post some pics this weekend when I have some time to post a picture that doesn't look like my 4yr. old took it. Real happy to see some LS Love!!!! I really feel this knife is under appreciated. It's not my go to necessarily but it feels very good in the hand. That ended up being a lot longer rant than I anticipated...gonna shut up now
Strong Side? I'm about to pick one up but want to know if anyone ****s with scout carry with it, and if not, what attachment for the sheath would be preferable for perhaps an EDC outfit.
I do prefer mine in the horizontal (is that the same thing as scout?) position just off to the right side on my lower back (~5 o'clock). Most of my pants allow me to shift it further back to dead center (to the 6 o'clock position) by just pushing it over. It keeps the handle out of my ribs and allows me to sheath/unsheath with my dominant hand. I use the Tek-Lok. They're cheap and you can reconfigure the sheath to vertical carry if you don't like horizontal. Drop leg isn't bad either. It keeps my knives out of the way of my side arm, which I appreciate. But I still prefer horizontal carry. The only time I can really think of that it aggravates me is entering a vehicle.
I scout carry sometimes. Way too cumbersome for edc imo but usually have mine attached to the mole strap strong side when hiking or doin shtuff round the property. Drop leg is good to i have a thigh holster I can attach it to as well.
