Wow, what a badass blade! It bites deep without any effort. 5-6 cm thick branches take 4-5 moderate strikes to get through. Comfortable for making a feather stick too. Zero edge damage, I'm very happy with it. Also surprisingly light on the belt. I even drove my car with it
These branches were really hard. The sound they made while chopping them was like I was hitting a steel rod. Zero damage, I am now a believer in the almighty Junglas. It starts showing love marks too.
I reworked my sheath/belt system for “Louisiana problems” skeeters were atrocious this summer/fall and our time working in the swamp measuring tree diameters and assessing vegetation growth was extended due to Hurricane Ida disrupting our usual season for that work. Just meant my Junglas got more time in the field clearing trails and strapped around my chest waders
My first Junglas. So proud. Thanks @Twoody88. I just etched the Logo and then I blued it. What a beauty.
Junglas was put to use clearing line of sight for swamp elevation surveys at work yesterday. It eats through palmetto fronds like nothing else. The Junglas and my cut off pushpole hiking stick are my two most used swamp tools at work.
Do it!!! I decided to try making a “binder” for when I’m doing a lot of chopping or clearing a lot of palmetto fronds and can’t keep my hands dry. I’ve never been a fan of using the lanyards around my wrist attached only to the pommel hole. Ended up following @91Bravo ‘s snake braid instruction and leaving an unbraided gap to slide onto the handle when I wanna use it. Attached with a lark’s head knot so I can take it off and dry it out when needed.
