Besides the looks the G10 scales are heavier and more dense...I like how they bring the balance point back.

I did notice that once I put TKC’s G10 scales on my Junglas. Took an awesome knife and perfected it.

I've told countless people that same thing and most look at me like I'm crazy...the small number of folks that follow suit normally come back and thank me...oh well...you can't save'em all! LoL..

Very much so. The heavier scales makes the knife feel smaller to me. More well balanced. @Jeff Randall would say I was making it up…. But that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I think balance or "feel" of a knife is a highly underrated quality.

If you pick something up and it feels right in your hand, you will be more comfortable using it.

Same goes for the sheath, a sheath can make or break a knife system.

very true...I don't know the actual weight difference of the micarta vs G10 but it's appreciable in the hand to me...and I can defiantly feel it on the knife itself... they make a significant difference on the OG Junglas too as that knife is quite tip-heavy in my opinion.

I agree - once I handled a regular Junglas with orange ESEE G10 I knew I needed a set for my J2 - even better I was able to score an early numbered skull J2 with the orange G10 scales from @Twiztedmind !!

I find with my J1 that they allow me to choke down towards the pommel more comfortably when I’m chopping brush and it almost feels like using a kurk.

Are the blades all black these days?
Or do they come in colors like the rest of the line?

You can have any color you want......as long as it's black.

G10 also doesn't absorb water, which can be a big plus for some.

Very true....some people just do NOT like g10...I like it, actually I don't have a preference....g10/micarta doesn't really matter to me....I tend to customize things and make them my own anyway....g10 and micarta both respond very well to a Dremel tool...
