This thing is sweet in the hand, feels like it will be a workhorse of a meat processor. Can’t wait to get my hands on one.

I have big hands, think it will work for me? Is it thin in the hand?

I think it will work just fine with big hands, it felt like my PR4. I was supposed by how light it felt in hand.

for a smaller guy I've got pretty big mitts.....I LOVE this blade in the hand..

I loved watching people pick this blade up all weekend....for the stoic guys it was a raised eyebrow....for the more transparent it was normally a "WOW".....

the blade is light and wants to cut as soon as you pick it up....its hard to describe but there is a balance in this blade that tells you it is purpose built to separate skin and meat from bone in the most efficient way possible....an absolute slicer and SUPER nimble....

More on this during Idaho Bushcraft...

    Okay @Jeff Randall , @shaneadams90 , and @Tyler Pipes! I have a fantastic idea for you guys. Inspired by vintage gear of scouting and none other than kit Carson himself. So I could see this as a great choice for the JG5, the PR4 or even the wee & Mighty CR2.5. No matter the knife they would be paired with the ESEE carving axe to create a setup like this;

    9F8EFF0B-F90F-4805-B287-60306295D6D2.jpeg 64D27E59-79CD-494D-9E9D-EF3D51BA10E0.png 3E048DA8-DC0D-4BF5-A25E-58A77DC021FC.jpeg

The belt mounted axe mask is also a knife sheath. This piggyback option would be great for a combo setup. I would also say not only a belt loop but slots on the back to lash to Molle with tac tie type products or speed clips. Also a few D rings on top to add a simple shoulder strap. I might be crazy but I think this would be an awesome thing! Lol

Personally I would want the JG5 with the axe which is why I placed it here.

Pass. Why would I ever carry something that heavy and bulky on my belt. Come to think of it, I've never carried a hatchet on my belt.

I do all the time. I keep a basic belt kit that is modular all the time in the woods. I would rather that than a pack. Although in the heat I like to carry a hydration bladder in a small pack.

I was thinking something like this for the GB6HM in BLACK oxide with BLACK G10 combined with the @Expat Cleaver
    Add a CR2.5 in BLACK oxide with BLACK G10 in a pocket/neck sheath and I'd be a happy camper/meat processor :D

I think it’s a nice option. Might find a custom maker after I get the axe. Would be cool for the campfire series though

This is probably the best route simply due to the production issues that I know we will incur. We love to support the secondary market and this is one I think we will leave to it. Great idea, just more difficult to do for mass production.

Look at it this way....now it’s like Burger King and you can have it your way. Win/win! Lol.

We are a mass production outfit; typically producing things in lots of “thousands”.....so hitting the magic combo on an item like this is damn near impossible. If we do it with the axe and JG5 then the very next question will be:

“When will it be available for the_______?”

And in the ________ fill in our entire knife line. That’s why the aftermarket excels in a case like this.

I cannot honestly see a need for this blade for really anything I do... What I really like about these photos thou is it gives me a much better idea on the size of the upcoming ax! And I can really start to see where it could start to fill some of the rolls I need :)
