Please share your thoughts or experience with ankle carry options for the Izula II. My purpose is for Kayak fishing - not concealment. A belt sheath is uncomfortable and I have a couple items already around my neck that are frequently used. I’m thinking an ankle sheath would give me easy access and keep it out of the bottom of the boat. Normally a warm weather activity so I typically would not be wearing boots. This is certainly a cabin fever post since the creek is frozen over here!

You might consider using a neoprene ankle brace as the carrier, then stitch the sheath to that.

Look at some police supply places for cuff carriers too.

My concern is lack of access to your knife due to the kayak spray skirt being cinched up.

Why not mount it to your PFD , in a pouch style sheath for secure retetion

Thank you gentlemen. This was my first post and never expected such fast responses. Bushman I'm in a sit-on-top fishing kayak so access to the ankle area is not a problem but thanks for your feedback. My son has several ankle braces and one of them is fixin' to go missing! Thanks for sharing ChromeDome

I second attaching it to your PFD if you wear one...Another option is to lose the neck carry stuff and look into a chest rig by hpg or the older ribz packs if you don't wear a PFD

Neoprene dive knife strap would do the job nicely. Made exactly for this kind of task.

Well I developed this ankle mount not sure if it would be something you are interested in. 20190313_132523.jpg 20190315_110250.jpg 20181124_160930.jpg

I'm a paddler myself, ;) and ankle mount would be too low. Aie having to lean wayyy forward or lift the foot off the pegs to get to the knife. Moving it up to the calf or even to the thigh just above the knee would be better. A more "natural" draw I think... Perhaps we can get Mr Morrison to try his rig out in those positions, a test run, and give some feedback on it.
