In between the Middle Prong Wilderness and Shining Rock Wilderness there is an awesome loop hike that includes Flat laurel creek , Sam Knob (elev 6045) and Little Sam Knob . I took the pooch for a little hike down Flat laurel and up Sam knob yesterday . Usually we spend a few days on the MST or atop Cold mountain in the distance. Enjoy ~
