How come no one ever starts a "Post your fakes!" thread here?

Thinking about melting mine down to make a cleaver. I really wish I had a cleaver. It would be awesome with a junglas handle and Idaho stamped out of the blade. Jeff and Mike should look into that.

It's the smarter version of the cleaver.

Are the clever and cleaver related to the cleavage?

That's a folder that started with a visit to Ted Nugent's penthouse suite in LAs Vegas. ))

It is a legitimate folder Jeff and I designed for Ontario Knife Company years ago. Still sells well today as far as I know. There is actually a smaller version of that same knife that Ontario sells. It is not a counterfeit. Mike

    Wait...what?

I know about the RAT-1 and RAT-2 folders made by Ontario.
Love the design, must get one someday.
About two years ago I found that RAT-3 for sale on a local second-hand website.
I did some online searching for more info about the model 3 folder after I ordered it.
Mostly nada, exept for a russian guy reviewing a China RAT-3 folder.

I decided to post a thread on the old forums asking if there ever was a RAT-3 folder with digicam scales.
    No-one ever heard of it.
I asked one of our Russian members (Odin-something? Nice guy, added cool stuff to the old blacksmithing thread.)
if he could translate some of that video for us.
He confirmed it was a review of a fake china knockoff, but added that the reviewer was impressed with the overall quality and fit & finish of that knife.

I added a lot of detailed pics, and I remember Jeff commenting that it was an outrageous ripoff.
Lost interest in that knife, and tossed it in a drawer somewhere.

I'm surprised to hear it could be the real deal after all.

Edit;drawerraid. Want to find that knife now.

I remember seeing a thread on this. I don't recall Jeff's input, but someone did a comparison video. Supposedly the multi-cam pattern was never an option from Ontario, and the blade stock was thicker than the original. Plus the fact that it's called the model "3". Pretty sure it's a fake.

It's roughly the same thickness as my Izula.

I was damn sure it was a fake.
    Until Mike Perrin's comment.

I don't have an ESEE or RAT fake, but I do have a fake "Strider", lol. I knew it was not legit when I purchased it, but I like the ergos, spanto blade grind and steel used (A2 tool steel) so it was $40 well spent in my book. I might strip the logo off though:
