papillon is great... loved all the old POW movies. @Frankenstein, chain mail isn't that difficult, it's just time consuming... starting with wire and not using power tools adds to the time. learn to count by 4s pretty good, too. but then, i like tying paracord some, too...
It's not a classic movie, but Slingblade will always be a favorite of mine. Doing european skull mounts has become a bit of a hobby for me.
"Just stick a broom up my ass and I can sweep the floor on my way out" Hope you can find it to watch well known supporting cast.
I like most john Wayne but I didn't care for the Roy Rogers type works. Some of his best work was early on like Tycoon Wake of the Red Witch Reap the Wild Wind The Spoilers I like the classic horror/sci-fi War of the Worlds When Worlds Collide Day the Earth stood still The Time Machine Soylent green Omega man The day the sky exploded Day of the triffids The blob Etc the classic vamp, mummy, werewolf variety Bogart did well in the falcon of course and African queen, and treasure of the Sierra madre was good also I do like Flynn in Captain Blood The Sea Hawk Come to mind right off
So on another front I'm trying to put together some pieces to finish out a "half sleeve" I have a Anchor with the pow logo set in it there are two sets of initials/dates that go with it and a verse in Latin my wife wants me to turn it in to a "half sleeve" fill in the whole forearm been kicking ideas around I'd rather go with a nautical theme rather than military and there isn't much color wanted more blk/gry I guess? Frenchie can chime in with the hip terms anyhow feel free to play along if you have ideas
How about my avatar in one of those old school brass diving helmets? Where's the guy posting pics of me? Have him mock up one of me inside one of those helmets
@DSD were talkin tats frenchie. Where is @Stim were talking about whatnots you crazy bastard lol I figured out hot to use the @ @Frankenstein Had to see what happens the stove might not be hot?
@Frankenstein my only input would be STOP thinking about it,grab a plane ticket and let me do the rest !!!!!
While not a collector, I like old martial arts films where the actor couldn't act but skills were amazing: Force Five, Revenge of the Ninja (Sho Kosugi), Billy Jack, Bruce Lee stuff. Horror with a subtle message: Dawn of the Dead, Friday the 13th (not all), Children of the Corn, Christine. Halloween was my favorite slasher flick. The first movie that I ever watched in a theater when I was 5 was Jaws. They used to show that movie every summer. My dad smacked me in the head because I cried when the shark was killed. Piranha was the second movie I watched at the drive in. Still love that one and piranhas. Always liked First Blood, Death Hunt, Deathwish, Commando, The Mountain Men, The Park is Mine, Red Dawn, Terminator, Pale Rider, Warriors Blazing Saddles was my dad's favorite comedy. I also like Tim Conway and Don Knotts movies. Damnation Alley was my favorite nuclear war movie Hated Star Wars. Probably because I didn't see it and all the rich kids had the action figures. My 3rd grade teacher told me in front of the class that I would grow up to be Darth Vader. The class laughed and I didn't understand the symbolism.
Halloween is one of my favorite movies. I'm with you on the old horror movies. I was a big horror buff when I was younger. Huge fan of Dario Argento flicks, and I absolutely love John Carpenter.
My current focus hobby is fountain pens. I have entirely too many and want many more. I've even got a few other people hooked on them.
