fun little project tonight, another "Toxic Sludge" mod by me.

started with a well used , well loved brass Zippo case. Threw it onto the stove burner to heat up

    changing colors

now once it had sat on the burner for 5 minutes a side, i flipped it , then removed and applied my (secret) treatment to get the finish. Then i put it back onto the burner for 5 minutes

    polished with AutoSol

    and buffed

the neat part is as the Zippo is pocketed, handled, used, the colors polish out higher and the effect gets better with age.

Can you just make it shiny again?

I really liked it before the autosol. I think some type of epoxy/clearcoat that could keep that matte finish would be awesome.

Yea I like the pre polish color too. Although the camera doesn't really show the satin polished color that well......it's really cool in person.

Got a special collaboration project coming up with a forum member. Stay tuned for March release. ;)

all right, you want a matte finish, no sealer spray required, here you go, same zippo case, reheated and quenched in a special solution. Turned out better than I thought it would , matte finish and great pantina
