I like them. Bright enough to do outside work but not retina-searing inside. It’s newnn reliable too.
This little fellow was sitting in the display case last week trying to get someone to take him home. I’ve wanted either a 2 3/4” Speed Six or Model 66 for years. I think 10mm may be more better. Izzy II for scale (and ESEEness).
Just a super quick photo. 24” 224 Valkyrie. Rock creek 6.7 gain twist cut rifles barrel on a BCM upper Threw it in my service rifle lower. Which is a texas edition Aero precision with a Milazzo-Krueger trigger, UBR stock Currently tipped with a primary arms 4-14x44 R-grid in a large 20moa mount
You and me both HA! I always love hype around new cartridges. And the nonsense debates that follow. But if this shoots near the hype, it potentially could be the best long range caliber to date when limited to an AR15 platform. However shakey start! Federal pulled their 90gr gold medal match ammo and there are reports of popping primers. I think like the early days of the 6.8.spc. Figuring out barrel length and twist rate are going to be really key. I’m hopping this upper being the full 24” like the standard test barrels and having 6.7 twist on a cut rifles barrel, vs broach/button with an extended gas port should be key in reliabity and performance But it looks like it may be a while before I get out the range. This is the closest range to my office. My guess is it may be closed for a while due to rain
Built this shorty 308 win on Aero receivers and rail with a 12.5 inch Sig 716 barrel, SDN-6 can. Switching the barrel to DI from the intended piston system called for a custom gas tube but she runs like a top.
Nice looking gun. I'm looking forward to hearing range and ballistic reports on this one. Specifically wondering about velocity loss with a 12.5 inch barrel?
