Once I saw the flag hit the ground, I would've quit, knowing what was coming. Our Cadre said if the flag touched the ground, he would PT us until 50% quit. I honestly think he was serious about it.

Everyone has a reason why they go. Mine is to endure something in training so i can endure in real life.

Very nice aar. Aside from the flag drop it sounds like a good group. Very well done sir.

That's interesting, strig .... So would you say you view it more like visiting the farm for a class than say running a marathon because you enjoy running?. I could see where you would find it useful if that's the case.

I have a friend in Connecticut that does tough mudders but all I've ever got out of him about it is "dude, it's a blast" but maybe they are ran differently than the gorucks. /shrug.

At any rate, interesting evening for me. (But still not interesting enough to sign up myself lol )

Absolutely! We are crazy for doing these events. Point well taken!!
It's ok though. I catch the same from my wife who drops me off and picks me up. Every time I say I'm not doing another one. Last time she recorded me with her phone.
They have each been different based upon weather and cadre.
The last one I actually had the thoughts of quitting at about 5 am. Had never thought that before. Pretty serious foot pain going on gets in your mind after a while.
I still get nervous at each one.

Very similar. Events and classes boiled down are an experience in suffering. Do you have an ounce of quit in you or not? Can you stare down the devil inside and push on? Thats the mentality i have about it anyways... and theres a patch.

Yeah, but youre a powerhouse. Us mortals have to get in shape for a goruck. Also wanted to be in shape for field survival.

Yeah right. I just know how to put one foot in front of the other all the way to the end.
I do have an overseas trip next month that I will be prepping for.
Six weeks out on a GR. That is all my old man body can handle.

I ran 1.5 mile in preparation for August.
But only because it was 78 degrees, on FEB. 7!!!
