It is a .50 caliber approximation of a rifle from Virginia circa 1760. It has a 1-70 twist.it shoots a patched round ball in .49 . I used .018 pillow ticking and 70 grans of 3f Swiss black powder. I use a finer black powder in the flash pan.
I built it with a kit from Kibler long rifles I’ve built other kits but this one was amazing. The newer model is touted as even more completed. Mine has minimal carving. Just some decorative lines. I used an old finishing technique using tannic axcidand aqua fortis A981AFDD-889D-48C5-BB80-89DC4D84EF9E.jpeg iv I have built theee so far mine are the two on the left.
