Exactly. After practicing with it a bit, it's pretty darn handy.

@Hammer I might have to try one of those out. I have a G2X LE that has been sitting around for a while. I stopped carrying it for lack of a clip.

Yeah, the clip is great, and sized such that it will work with MOLLE loops as well.

Once you get the hang of flipping it around, it works better than any other handheld paired with a pistol that I've used. Esp. for larger diameter handheld lights.

It's definitely a nifty option. All of my low light practice so far has been with a wml or shooting 1 handed.

This Surefire Titan Plus has been my EDC light for about 2 1/2 years now. BIG light in a little package with just a AAA battery. Only issue is when carrying it in the side pocket of my overalls it will turn itself on if I am getting in and out of the vehicle many times in a work day, twice it has been dead when I went to use it but now that I learned to check it when doing this no issue. I swap the rechargeable battery once a month and always get the 300 lumen blast when needed. I have always kept lots of lights around, mostly Streamlight and Surefire, but find I rarely use any of them since I started carrying this little torch.

Looking for a new EDC light. Been carrying a Malkoff MDC w/ 16650 for about a year now, but the switch is acting up and I’d like to free up a little pocket space. Opinions?

I've always had good luck with offerings by streamlight.

My last 2 lights have been from PflexPro and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Bright and reliable.

Surprised to hear youre having an issue with the mcclicky switch. Gene might send you a new one if you ask nicely. I've never had to replace one, but it should be pretty easy.

is the switch dirty perhaps? The contacts can get all gunked up with corrosion and belly button lint over time.....wouldn't hurt to disassemble it and use a Qtip and contact cleaner to clean it up. Then put some NYOGEL on the contacts and orings

Update : turns out the EC35 is not bronze......but plated brass on brass, according to a spectrograph/metallurgy test by several CandlePowerForums senior members........ link 1 link 2

Im disappointed because bronze gets a really nice patina after awhile, but it (the EC35) still a really nice brass light.

Also....this light was released in late 2015. Just goes to show how behind Canada is in getting new products.....

Been EDC'ing an Olight M1T Raider for a while now, and really liking it, except for one annoying flaw - it kept turning on way too easily when clipped inside my pocket. And sometimes I wouldn't notice it until the battery was practically dead.

I've never had that problem with my trusty Streamlight 1L-AA, so it's back in the rotation.

I'm not familiar with the Olight, but on Streamlight and similar flashlights I twist the tail cap just enough that it won't stay on if the button is pushed accidently.

As a bonus, this gives me a momentary feature like the old Surefires. Push and hold for a quick flash and twist to fully tight for constant on. I haven't had an issue with inadvertently walking around with a light on in my pocket since I started doing this.

Thanks, and yeah, I often do that with flashlights if I'm carrying them in a pack for example, but for an EDC light that I carry in a pocket, I want something that I can quickly deploy with one-handed operation and no need to twist to tighten.

I think it really just comes down to design. The Streamlight has a recessed tail switch, so it's very well protected from being accidentally turned on, while the Olight tail switch is fully exposed:

Here's a pic of my (current) EDC lights:

The Maratac AAA is always in my pocket, and usually accompanied by another "clicky" light.

Been liking the i3T EOS lately, due to its size and simplicity.

I just got the S1R Baton (Turbo S) today - and pretty damn impressed by it. It's WAY more compact, i.e. smaller, than I anticipated. You really have to see it/hold it in-person to really appreciate the size and form factor.

Tons of nifty features in a very easy and intuitive package. A few different button clicks or presses make the interface almost idiot-proof.
    • Strobe
    • Timer (3 min. or 9 min.)
    • Button lockout w/ subtle red indicator light
    • Moonlight mode
    • Reversible Clip*
    • The USB magnet charger is an easy way to keep it charged. The magnet is pretty damn strong and not some chincy POS as you might think.
*The clip is one of the only things I haven't gotten used to (yet). I really like 2-way clips for ease of use and different positions. This light does have a reversible clip (like my Maratac) so it can be used on the bill of a hat, or on the shoulder harness of a pack etc. It's not a true 2-way clip, and the carry position is a little "unorthodox" compared to most other EDC lights. It's just a bit awkward, in my opinion - but that's a small gripe and really doesn't detract from how awesome this light really is.
