As with most things that I buy they need a little tweaking. I hunt a lot and process my game by myself. Some game I may want to preserve for taxidermy or fur. So I have the need for a scalpel. I know there are a lot of options out there but nothing that I really liked. So....I made my own. I started out with basic stainless steel scalpel handle ($5). Then I milled out the center and placed jimping on the top and bottom. This shaved some weight and improved the grip. I had it cerokoted bright orange. Then I found some kuiu verde kydex and worked with a buddy to make a sheath. My vision is now complete :D. Let me know what you guy think.

I like that alot. Ive hoped that a maker would make something like that in a non disposable blade.

There is a company that makes what you seek :) kestrel knives, it’s called the mountain caper. Sweet knife, not a terrible price but hard to get in stock. I found them in my search when looking for the scalpel handle. They actually make a titanium scalpel handle as well. Ultra light hunting knives.

It’s not too bad $129 but for what you get pretty spendy. I just looked not terrible price except the mountain scalpel handle $89.99

    That is COOL.
Is the blade replaceable? Is that how it works?
