Im limited by work and the petting zoo when i try to get out to the woods. This last weekend a bcusa member and i took a short overnighter to a section of the Buffalo River. The hike in is approximately 4.5 miles with an elevation drop of about 1,350 feet. I stole some of his pictures to put on here. Unfortunately, he took several of me because he was interested in what could be done with cheap equipment and a good knife. ( The Esee 5 I liberated from @Odinborn is featured) Forgive my mug, I'll try to get some scenery pictures posted next. But proof I do try to get out! We started out with a dusting of snow and about 28 degrees. That night by the water it got down in the low 20s.
Very cool glad you got out. I staffed a fish and wildlife merit badge with the Boy Scouts and the crab orchard wildlife refuge... it was fun! It’s all about getting out and having fun!
Not really by the time that pic was taken. I mean....you realize how many layers are there on top of the fat?
Awesome!!! I need to get out soon and get my head clear again. Never be ashamed to show your mug - especially photos that show you "in your element" doing something you love to do. I would much rather see REAL candid photos than staged selfies or narcissistic Facebook posts from the "look at me" generation. Thanks for sharing with us @Black5!
