Were they hot... I'll just keep that little 'update' to myself. Don't think the wife and daughter would understand.;)

Likely not. Lets just say that two goats moved out then.

Find a cooler or cold day to do it. Good quick kill. Read a lot and watch a ton of videos on processing and butchering. Sharp knives for butchering. Sort of sharp knives for skinning. Hang for processing. Cool the meat down quick. Cool meat or cold meat is easier to cut. Wrap in butchers paper and put in ziplocs or use those suck the air out bag thingys. Let it freeze solid then enjoy. Im sure theres more...

    No... dangit. Wasnt even thinking.

Do you do the processing or have it done? I'm sure I know the answer but around here the are services that travel to farms and process the animal for you. They show up with a van/truck with everything you ever wanted to process.

    I process everything myself.
The last time I took meat to a processor it was horrendous.
I don't know if I had my deer, or someone else's deer.

No pictures, but it was a busy week on the farm here. Since 7/1 the volunteers harvested over 6,000 pounds of squash, zucchini, cucumbers, chard, beets and kale for donation. Very proud of them!

    ETA:

Also on Farm #1, we fixed a stake body dually tire, fixed a hay trailer and baled 300 beautiful bales of first cut.
