The Mrs. sent for the new Esee sharpener/strop accessory as a surprise from my mentioning it. I love it! Pictured here with Candiru neck knife and Izula. Sharpener is FINE grit DMT with a leather strop on the other side. I find that the leather prevents the sharpener from moving while working, unless its on glass, it wont slide around. Also comes with a nice, darker leather case and all is shipped in a heavy duty zip lock pouch that I would imagine is waterproof, but haven't tried. The sharpener is petite but that makes it more likely to carry it. I tried it on a chinesium/Taiwanesium knife i had lying around. This did a great job (its better at sharpening than I am so to speak) and it passed the paper cutting test with flying colors. The strop seems very well attached to the metal and forsee no issues in the future. I may put some metal polish on the leather. In my thinking, the wax base in it fills in the pores of the steel and helps prevent rust, but that's just a theory. Price was $24 to $25 plus shipping. May eventually order the MEDIUM grit in the future. Another quality accessory from Esee!
