We get smashed on import duties etc but not until the declared value of the package (including postage) exceeds $1K Aussie. I can't see how the process sin Canada is even cost effective considering the administration of the collection (that is literally how they decided on the $1k threshold here).
I literally had a $50 ferro rod classified as an electrical product by CBSA. Got dinged 29 bucks and there is no point in contesting it with them, your name goes on a list and EVERY single future parcel that you order will get torn open and assigned big customs charges.
I don’t think he’s hit the buy link yet. I’ve been checking pretty regularly since they’ve announced.
Given the information from the podcast about why the Pinhoti was produced ahead of other models, it's uniqueness in the lineup and the uncertain future of manufacturing; disruptions, material supply shortages, economic instability, pandemics, etc this might end up being the most sought after, collectable production ESEE. Anyone that wants one should grab it ASAP given the chance. Once they are sold, which I guess will not take long, the prices on the secondary market will likely be steep.
you think like me. I'm considering upping my overtime to 70 hours a week, buy like 20 of these , use one , safe stash the others for massive resale value ten years down the road I wish id done that with the early Esee skull logo knives. I should have bought like 50 of every model , including firesteels , vests, etc and safe queen'ed them all . Hell I sold one of the original RAT skull logo FerroRods for $150 a year ago - USED!
No, I won't be buying a Pinhoti. It doesn't fill a need I have and wouldn't work well for my uses and lifestyle. I do like seeing the company trying different things. And I don't buy knives, or other tools, to flip later. Or as investments. I really don't buy knives much anymore and when I do it's generally to gift them. I was just making an observation above about the likely future value of these.
Just got news recently that all of these knives are going to Blue Ridge Knife Company (distributor)...Once they receive ALL 300 they will ship to those dealers that have ordered them...I will keep you posted as I know more.
@shaneadams90 So what you’re saying is! You guys are doing the best you can and multiple factors including production, shipping and receiving and a bunch of moving parts we don't know about have caused a short delay in the arrival of the knives to the main distributor. Which has caused a short delay in arrival to the vendors. Which has caused a short delay to the arrival to customers. I figured that is what’s happening BUT new shiny knives can make me impatient..
This will be an interesting sale; https://www.ebay.com/itm/325376102932?hash=item4bc1ed5214:g:IpMAAOSwLgdjQ2J3&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAAkF9ViHgN/+hmL18sPFIVHoxYdhm4pneKL023gcmhiujREGjWvZCVPMzX32vDOGslp4hTXELJONMWEkGjvi37r9CZLD8ACLrJ+LAulo/W1wYKl5u/Je7hNDn6DaMnBf3jbtqr44rmVyaDYV5moJ/w9msYjBgClVxbHICYaEuN+kC9Ktny6MG+l/Xh9gBJjGNUWw==|tkp:Bk9SR_iR-f73YA unless someone gets the buy it now and we don't get to see the price.
