The Pinhoti Friction Folder is my first knife design to go into production. I'm pretty stoked about this...if you have some time and want to know more about the design inspiration, prototyping, field testing, and manufacturing process...check out the video below.

Very nice! Don’t see that style of knife around much. Nice to see different designs besides back or liner locks and slip joints

Further thoughts- I watched most of the pod cast (short on time today) and I like the shape and overall design. It looks like a good item for a hunter pack. I’d like to see a spine pic of the whole knife. What is the tang resting on when the blade is in use? And #2- Why a brass pivot pin? That seems like a step down in strength from the original prototypes..

I can answer this one. There's a stop pin in the frame that the tang rests against. Patrick holds the knife up to show this for just a second right around 32:56 in the video.

Tang is resting on a stop pin...90* spine the length of the blade....brass is plenty strong for this knife. Not a hard use folder by any means. use it as a knife and you will be fine....will try to drop some photos but my dog rolled in something dead and Im about to head to the farm...so I kinda have my hands full right now..
