So I used to fish...fly fish....a LOT....but life got busy....super busy....every now and then I get a chance to get back out on the river and while I don't fly fish as much bc I am on the oars I still love being out there... My wife enjoys fishing and just being out side and loves to go....luckily so do my boys...I got my oldest and I out today for a pretty good day on the river... go ahead and get this out of the way....THE KNIFE is one of Dan Eastland's Fish & Fowl blades and it is a really nice knife that gets the job done. Jackson, 17, my oldest has been an angler since he was 5 years old...Loves to fish and is a straight killer in the woods....Bow or Gun....this kid fills the freezer. But today, Dad topped him....both in total number and size!
A few more pics of my youngest and friends on the boat....as much as I love to fish I really enjoy rowing for people and putting them on fish..... @Patrick Rollins have filmed a few tech videos on it.... @mikea built the boat for his boys and It somehow ended up at my house through some horse trading! It's an awesome boat that always gets questions anywhere we fish. My Youngest....he's a foot taller now...this was taken last year! His first fish....a good friend of mine that had never fished!
You will never relive YOUR OWN moment....of that first trout.......but it's cool to observe it when it happens to others.......took a very good friend of my wife's last week....she's had a tough few years, husband died unexpectedly...he was an avid outdoorsman....all she wanted was to catch a trout.....near the very end of the day....she landed one and just cried.....it was a cool moment....sad/happy all at the same time.
Beautiful boat, and the offer stands if you ever make it up to Alberta I will take you to some world class streams. I just can't promise a boat
I haven't been fishing since my dad and I found a man's body on the Etowah, when I was around 9 years old (40 now). I have been wanting to give it a try, at least I have this idea on my head that catching and cooking your own trout while camping in the Cohuttas, would make me feel like Hugh Glass!
They taste better when you catch'em and cook'em on the side of the river!.....The Cohuttas have some places to catch fish but they are wild and cagey.....good luck!
