I’d like to see a Gordian knot as extra credit!

I’m gonna sit this one one out as we covered all but the Munter hitch in great detail at SRT, there are some great knots on this list though.

    Let’s get knotty folks.

Figure of eight on a bight.

Munter on biner with a water knot webbing anchor (the most common method of low angle belay we use). Preferably with a pear-biner, but I don't have one at my disposal at the moment.

    Clove hitch.

    Double fisherman.

    Tree wrap prusik.

    Alpine butterfly.

    Thanks for the challenge Strig!

Oh, and as extra credit, I quite literally just learned about this knot thanks to @Jeff Randall. Never heard of nor used it before in my life. It's actually pretty darn neat! Comes undone with ease even after being put under tension.

I didn’t know an alpine knot. I also didn’t know a Munter hitch was called a Munter hitch. I use the prusik and clove hitch often.

Not enough tangles and way too neat of a bowline to be considered the famous Mike Perrin Canoe Knot!

The Alpine is a great midline knot since it can be tensioned from either side. A lot of rescue folks would rather use a directional 8 for their go-to midline knot but as the name suggests, it is only supposed to be tensioned in one direction.

All but the Alpine and the Bowline. Simply due to the fact that I've had no reason to use either before.

See, I'm still learning. I just thought it was a neat obscure knot.

The bowline. The king of knots. Nope, never heard of that.

I'm going to need to spend some alone time with one of my knotty books and get to know some of these famous knots I've apparently never heard of.

Lets get more entries in here. This can be done with the above guides and a camera in a few minutes. These knots will be of use to everyone on this forum.
