We're fortunate to have the Smoky Mountains an hour away. I like going there spring, fall and winter, and staying away during the high season. Took our lunch drove part of Cades Cove Loop. Spotted one bear. Townsend has two Visitor Centers worth visiting and a couple new retailers have opened since I was there last. Jeeps and Sasquatch.
Your thumbnail picture wouldn't be on the Blue Ridge Pkwy would it? I swear I spent time there on a hurricane pass doing a chip seal project, not far from where it meets the Smokies I think.
