D. B. Cooper 49th Anniversary...did he survive?

That's still pretty awesome though, even if it screwed your original plans. I love that y'all ditched them, they didn't require a rescue did they? That would be a terrible waste of resources.

 

Or did this just happen and they are still out there?

 

They didn't stay out for very long. YouTube guy had a drone operator with him to meet him at the first river/road crossing. We made sure that that guy knew that we were bailing. The three ran as a group up to that point so they all found out together.

A couple of us got angry texts later in the evening. It's not the first time that the friend of a friend has pulled this crap. This was his final invite though. Some folks just don't understand that not everyone wants to be famous and not everything has to be monetized. Some of us just like doing silly, hard stuff with friends for fun.

 

The guy that hosts Meateater has a new show that's going to be on History Channel. Called Hunting History or something like that. Apparently one of the episodes will revolve around the Dan Cooper hijacking. Listen to the latest Meateater podcast or watch the History channel series to see why I say Dan and not D.B. It sounds like it will be interesting.
