No pictures, but enjoyed a second date night in a row with the wife. Last night was coconut and panko crusted shrimp with firecracker sauce, sesame scallion mashed potatoes, and stir fried veggies. They were out of coffee jelly, so we settled for banana cream pie. Tonight was a 12oz New York strip medium, with a baked loaded sweet potato and a Caesar salad.
It is important during time like this to make sure you are staying healthy and strong. For instance, this well rounded meal covers 4 of the major food groups. Meat, grains (bread), vegetables, and dairy.
My ladies are laying! Double yolkers are my favorite! Introduced my wife to tuna melts yesterday. On Dave’s Killer Bread with shredded cheddar and provolone cheese.
With everything slowing down our local mushroom farm had a deal on shiitake and oysters. Been canning and dehydrating them.
Wife turned 28 today and wanted a nice steak so I went to see my butcher before he opened up for curbside and got her a nice NY strip for dinner. For me, 35 day dry-aged prime grade ribeye. I reverse-seared mine and she wanted hers straight up charcoaled rare. #qualityquarantining.
Stupid phone turns my photos. But either way this virus ain’t doing anything to me other than making me a better and more creative cook.. smoked a bunch of salmon up for a buddy and he paid me in a slab so I made some homemade lox spread for bagels. :droooooool: Prepping ribs to go on the smoker about 1pm today.
Yeah, not sure what changed but any time I resize photos here to a smaller size it rotates them. Doesn’t do it with original size photo, not sure why. Stuff looks good as always!
We usually do prime rib with the family but since we are home alone with the baby I did a partial prime rib out of the freezer. Prime grade ribeye RARE with cheddar mashed potatoes and a Sam Adams cherry wheat was my Easter dinner.
