Today was a momentous day. Today for the very first time in my life I made Dutch oven bread. No joke, I have never made homemade bread, not once. I thought I would share this occasion with you guys. My most favorite gang of heathens in the whole world. (It didn't rise as much as I thought it should, it was rather dense and chewy but had a nice crust and great flavor.)
Took 1 of the turkey breasts from when Strig and I went hunting up to visit some friends on their farm & do a little turkey hunting. This is what she turned it in to. Best home cooked meal I’ve had in a long tome.
You guys know I like to eat well. We are in Vegas for the 9 ball tournament that I won a couple months ago. They paid for my flight and hotel. Here are some of the meals. Lobster, shrimp, and scallops rolls that our friends brought with them for us on the flight. We also had venison roast with a black raspberry sauce. First night here we had reservations for the Pampelmousse- FANTASTIC. Soft shell crab almondine and a beautiful 16-18oz ribeye. Hash House A Go Go for breakfast yesterday! Fried chicken Benedict with a chili cream sauce in place of the traditional hollandaise. Yes, it was that good! Can you tell I’m excited?? We got knocked out of the tournament yesterday because of my partners idiotic playing but it is what it is. We ate at Edge steakhouse after. (Without him) First was wagyu tartar - drool-worthy. That was followed by an 18oz bone-in dry aged ribeye.. hands down best steak I’ve ever had anywhere. Had a Makers Mark to accompany dinner. Dessert was creme brûlée that they flambé’d at the table and a chocolate dome with a brownie in the middle along with ice cream, pralines, more chocolate and then they poured boiling caramel on top for it to melt the dome and expose the contents. Had an after-dinner whiskey in the Stratosphere above Vegas. Then we ended up on Fremont St to see the crazies so I had a big ole beer down there too.
Had a great date night dinner with the wife. Didn’t get any photos, but shared some sushi, she had kung pao and I had sweet and sour. She said the kung pao was super spicy and delicious. Then we had some coffee jelly for desert. Was cold brew coffee mixed with gelatin, cubed up and topped with whipped cream, chocolate, and maple syrup. It was awesome.
