Crossbows are not pleasant to shoot in my opinion. All the energy and vibration goes to your head if you cheek weld. Some are wayyyyy worse than others. The newer ones are superior to older ones. Shot an old one of my buddies and it rattled me.

What bugs me is the safety is out of reach and not convenient. I get why it has to be up that way but someone needs to get an extension lever or something built.

Thank God someone else said it. I can't stand the safety switch being so high. It's really a terrible design when you have a sketchy mature buck under 20 yards and you gotta move your entire damn hand to disengage the safety.

Silly me. Wanted to see if the Boltcutter broads were as accurate as field tips. 30yds and it cost me $25 or so.

Silly is not testing your equipment and watching your arrow drift high and left, right over the biggest buck of your life.

I've always wondered what the purpose of a crossbow was? I grew up in a state where you had to have a disability waiver in order to hunt with a cross bow, so never was ever exposed to them, I just dont necessarily see the point of choosing a cross bow over an actual bow, or just waiting till rifle season.

I hope I'm not offending anyone with this, just genuinely curious.

No offense taken here. I didn’t like it up until last year hunting out of a cramped blind with a compound bow trying to shoot out of a chair.

No draw cycle = less movement and less chance to get busted by a trophy buck, or any deer for that matter if putting meat in the freezer is the goal. Also, I have legitimate rifle accuracy out to 50yds, which is about as far as I could hope to shoot in these woods.

Going with a crossbow gives me another month and a half to hunt before rifle. And honestly it probably doesn’t take as much practice and a bow. I’m not in it for the “game”. I’m literally just trying to kill stuff and eat them.

Triggertech makes a replacement trigger for my mission crossbow. Should have time to review it today. Details: 2.5# single stage pull with and advertised 0 creep and 0 take up. The 0 take up cracks me up as thats just calling it a single stage again.

Some nice crossbows you are discussing here!
    I have a ManKung XB23, 175 lbs recurve .
It is a lot of fun for target practice up to 40-50 meters with a red dot. I use 20" carbon arrows with target tips, they work fine.
I really like the Excal Matrix Bulldog 330, but as I won't hunt with it, having such an expensive bow just for targets wouldn't make much sense. But who knows, if a bit of spare cash shows up :D

Definitely zero creep but im not sure they make the 2.5# mark. I have no gauge other than feel.

Overall better than the stock trigger. Did need to make a sight adjustment in windage and elevation.
