Im not a military guy but I dont see how anyone would be offended for wearing his tags... you are proud to be his grandson and are honoring him...now wearing his medals would be another thing lol...
Im so happy for you and just how perfectly this all is going.

Thank you and I am very proud. No, I'd never wear his medals, not even in private.
It is going really well, and that kinda scares me too. Nothing in my life has gone this well, ever.

    I am..

It is soon but it feels right. From day one we all clicked, like instant connections.

I do, my nephew has a lot of connections here and he's gonna hook up a job doing food prep for $14/hr. I need to start slow because of my health, but I should be able to do that easy. My only concern is my legs. They are swollen three times their normal size, and that's just from walking more.

It’s a matter of honoring him. As long If asked about them you explain that there your grandfathers and not yours and you wear to remember and honor him. I don’t think the most hard core military purest would have a problem. People faking their service has always been their problem not people honoring there past. If I had my Grandfathers I might even consider wearing them from time to time.

Any prospects on places to livw yet? I assume you are renting for the time being at least? House or apt?

Okay and I understand that. I'll probably wear a pin or two on my hat then. Thank you.
oh OK lol. Yeah it's a lot to do but I don't have much to take anyways so the packing won't take much and we've discussed it almost everyday, trying to get things in order. I'll be moving in with mom, at least at first. We've also talked about me being her caregiver as her health isn't the best and the state would pay me. I'm not sure I like that but it is something to think about.

That is so awesome how its all falling into place perfectly. I know it doesn't make up for lost time but i find it amazing how seamless the transition into your new family is.

That's why I said nothing had ever gone this well. But they're genuine as am I. Maybe this is to make up for an the crap I've been through. Whatever it is, it's amazing.

Had a very small, yet very strong storm blow through last night while we were out to dinner. It was dark when we got home and was dark when I left for work this morning. Came home to find this along with half a dozen or so large branches broke off several trees. At least now I have plans for this weekend

Wifey: Honey do you know where we live?

    Me: Yes honey.
Wifey: Ok, Do you plan on wearing your new wool jacket?
    Me: HE11 NO!
Wifey: So why do you want to do this project then?

    Had 93 and 59 earlier. Real feel 106. Now it’s 97/50 and still 106. That means to me it’s 106, not 93 or 97.
