Ok so I'm on a quest to find my perfect coffee cup to take in the woods with me. I have used the plastic measuring cup that comes with cook sets, the sea to summit x mug. They work but just don't do it for me.

So let's see wager you use in the woods? They can be bought or made just curious what's out there.

Pretty cool. I wish they weren't $25 apiece with shipping. Any idea how much they weigh each?

These types of enamelware mugs are really hard to find these days - I had some luck in a very old hardware store tho.
Remember having few of those when I was a wee kid, possbily were inherited from grandparents somehow. Funny how an object can bring a lot of memories from a childhood.

Edit: I use kuksa from Savotta/ company from Fiinland for my brews.

I just weighed one (I have them). 5.8 ounces for one mug.

There will be some Expat mugs along these lines. Enamelware is making something of a comeback along with cast iron. They are in the same vein of usefulness and permanence. The benefit of enamelware is the amazing colors and designs that can be baked on. Extremely durable as well. You can literally just put it straight on the grill. If you are familiar with the old speckled blue or red mugs and plates, that's enamelware. Unfortunately, most of them are cheap compared to the quality double-dipping that is done today. There is a reason REI has one for $3 and the good ones are $20. But, super light, can clip to your pack with a biner, you can cook in them, etc. 5b463d97967b96fd265cba0aa7c6785c.jpg 9ad14b9c4c419a3d0b9c311ef5f723f5.jpg b5f5fe6ede93e43feb1445c61633e301.jpg 39d4ced4eacee48e6c21832104dc04d5.jpg aa31dd59aac416cdf4f8ca21b54e8422.jpg b8928d4bfa95d09182021a09be221436.jpg 09a3ae96e7579797ea31ed0444f65ceb.jpg c9f4ea184c4046a7c759240a187d8cf4.jpg f4655e0f11b32ad8b9514ee34279cd74.jpg

Love that the one you linked to has the 4OZ graduations inside. Also think 20 Oz is a great size. I'd rather endorse Expat than S&S but I'm not very good at waiting....

The only issue I've found with enamel is that the lip gets so dang hot. Plus it seems when it's really cold they don't hold the heat well. You should have Expat branded double wall titanium mugs...

I'd pay that for a personalized Expat Knives double wall mug. No doubt.

I think I had some of those on an old camp kettle. I actually picked up some of these cheap on ebay.

They're pricey, but excellent warmth retention and they stack. I wouldn't pay retail, but they were worth what I got them for.

We can probably find our way to make a few of those, too. For people like you, @Bushman5

Here's my favorite enamelware mug. I bought this in Tortola almost 20 years ago. I've used it a lot and it still looks great. Hardly any wear:

Hotlips work really well but the mold is designed to fit a much thinner profile lip than the enamel mugs offer. I'm not saying it will not work but it would be necessary to trial fit and find out.

And yes @Expat, I will test these new mugs for you when available. Just send it to my regular address.

I'm not sure what y'all are doing. I've never burned my lips on these mugs. I routinely drink coffee out of them.
