have you tried the DT flex firehose?
it's a lighter weight canvas with a bit of stretch built in -- I've never tried it, but a buddy f mine loves them.

I've been wearing 5.11 Taclites for years. It's pretty much all I've worn.

I've only managed to wreck one pair by nearly impaling my leg on a branch after falling on it. Put a hole about the size of a toonie in the thigh, but the ripstop fabric held its own for the rest of the day (another 14 kilometers of off trail hiking).

I tend to get about 3 years out of a pair before wearing through them at one spot or another. I've yet to have anything mechanically fail on me (stitching, zipper, buttons and the like).

For the money, I like em.

I was given a pair of Strykes by a colleague who ordered the wrong size. They feel like wearing pajamas they're so comfortable.

Just need to look at getting a pair that fits me a little better.

I have the Strike as well. They are fine but sometimes I feel like I am wearing Stretch Jeans when in them...this causes flashbacks to the 80s where I had longhair, drank much more and made questionable choices with VERY questionable women...

Andy, do you mean to say that's not an accurate description of you today?

My entire image of you has been completely and utterly shattered.

No, I stooped wearing the acid washed stretch jeans in the early 90s (probably 5yrs after it was still in good taste to do so), "The Man" dictates my hair style (and it is dictated in terms of clipper combs so I wear a 1 up the sides and 3 or 4 on top depending on the season), still drink to excess from time to time and the only thing questionable about Mrs Andy is her taste in men and vision.... ;) ;)

I was under the impression that pants were optional, unless you leave the house.
