The Knife Connection, Knife Works, Knife Center, Midway USA and probably others all have the cleaver for the time being. There was such a huge demand, some stores only got a few on this first run so they'll probably sell out fast. If you want one right away, I wouldn't wait. Please, PLEASE get outside and make some memories with this thing!!! I want them to all be well used. Don't put one in the safe! I designed it to be something to enhance the outdoor/adventure/cooking experience. They will never be collectible so don't bother. Wear it out in the pursuit of memories with your family and friends. And then, make sure you post pics, videos, reviews, recipes, whatever. We all want to join in the experience you had with it. Post them here and if you're on Facebook, post them on our page:
Just ordered mine. And I already have my accessories waiting for it. Sidenote: I was under the mistaken impression that I had pre-ordered and was just waiting for the card to get dinged. Instead I had only signed up for notification. I had to place the order today. QTY 38 remaining at TKC.
Wow. They are going fast. There were 50 just a few hours ago. I really like that liner on that sheath. Makes it look cool.
I might have bought the first one from them. They had 50 on hand and I got my order in within minutes of receiving the email. WOOT! I can't wait to beat the crap out of this knife.
My order from knife connection is showing "on hold" today. Not sure what is up. Maybe not been unpacked yet?
Does Allen have the whole drop leg setup for sale or only the kydex? I don't expect him to have all possible carry options, but your son's setup was looking pretty good.
Glad you see the value. Like I had said before, I thought it was kind of too tacticool initially but around camp, I really appreciated the ease of use when you don't have a nail to hang the cleaver up between tasks. Check with @Allen Morrison personally. I don't know what he has available.
The sheath that I have came from Allen Morrison. It was his original prototype for the first cleaver. I have several of his sheaths for various applications. His work is very good. This for an italian axe head.
So is there a difference between the TKC version that states "Includes a leather blade cover" and other retailers like Knife Center that says "Includes: Leather Drop Sheath"?
All cleavers ship with the same sheath. And that sheath is included with every cleaver, regardless of what the sites say. It's the same black leather sheath.
