I used an ESEE 3 to filet a branch as kindling. The branch was not dead :( I have some green residue ("live" bark ?) on the blade. The Blade Finish is Desert Tan Textured Powdered Coated

How do I clean it off?

Just keep going, you'll eventually pick up a beautiful wear pattern if you use it enough.

If you really want it gone I have had good results with one of those "Magic Eraser" blacks you but for household cleaning (soft foam things) and soapy water.

if scotch brite and dish soap don't do it, try rubbing alcohol and a dead toothbrush followed by dish soap

Use it on more dead wood and wear that residue off (along with the coating). Nothing prettier than an ugly beat up ESEE that’s coating has come off with use (and not paint stripper).

If/when I clean mine I use windex and one of those green scotch Brite pads.. I usually only clean the handles though.. if the blade itself is dirty I just wipe it on my jeans before I sheath it. None of my blades are rusty or gross ever.
