Ok Fellow Maple Syrup slurping, TimBit nomming, Poutine eating , Canada Back Bacon frying, Lucky Lager/Canadian Beer swilling, Hockey playing Canucks (but not the hockey team The Vancouver CANNOTS :D)................ The loot box is getting mailed out this Friday after work! Due to one members insane insane insane work schedule , the box will go to them first for loot picking. After that its on its way to everyone else.

Have FUN! take a pricey item you like, plus a ton of smaller inexpensive stuff (lots of little tiny things in the box....your gonna have to dump the entire box onto a table and sort thru it....:p) , grab your loot , add some loot........and send it on down the line to the next person on the list. (PM them for their address) . Try to get some cool kids stuff in the box for the members who have up and coming woods kids!

In the interests of our personal privacy , PLEASE remove the previous mailers address label and any postal marks and burn the labels preferably. Also, I will list FORUM NAMES only on the shipping list.

Can't wait to see how this goes!

And special welcome to @boris_the_blade , a fine leather craftsman! welcome to the sheep show~!

    UPDATE! NEED YOUR THOUGHTS

Ok, bit of a pickle here.........postage costs VS value of items taken per person.

the box is about 20" x 20" x 12" and weighs about 18 - 20 lbs......this weight may go up or down depending on what people put into the box....if the weight goes up, so does the postage cost. Bigtime

postage in town (Metro Vancouver area) ranges from $25 - 45 , with my Canada Post business discount card......Normal prices without the discount card range is around $35 or so....

for outside the metro vancouver area and Coastal region, BC (strangely enough its cheaper to send to Port Alberni than to Port Moody here in town...) .....its horrendously expensive. Approx $40+ to send to Alberta, no idea on how much to come back to BC....

My concern is people having to pay insane amounts of postage, and not getting much value out of the box......basically paying insane amounts of postage for items they could buy for that postage cost or cheaper.....considering there is a lot of used (not abused) items in the box

unlike the States we dont have that sweet sweet $15 USPS feature......

not sure what to do here, I don't want people to be disappointed at having to pay a crap ton in postage and possibly not even getting value out of the pass around box...

holding off on mailing for now.

Could we downsize to a flat rate box? They run $25 for the biggest one I can look into the size this week

Post office clerk told me flat rate not available.

I could take some stuff out but then no one would get value for the shipping

It’s highway robbery! I sent an 8”x11” envelope, about an inch thick, less than a pound to Alberta. Regular parcel was $17.00! Oh! “Would you like to add insurance? No, I wouldn’t. I’m already paying for them to do a job, why do I have to pay extra for them to do it!

that was with a Canada Post business card discount too (which not everyone has).

the jump in fuel costs in BC didn't help - the fuel surcharge went up.
