    Hi gals and guys,

Several years back I picked up a small Puukko (approx. 5 1/2" overall with a 2 1/2" blade). The leather wrapped wood sheath has a white metal band at the top with a short 3 link chain and a metal "hook" to go over a shirt button. (I'll try to get a picture up soon). The issue I have is the sheath is missing the metal tip that attaches to the bottom.

I have tried to find a supplier of vintage/traditional puukko sheath parts, but I cannot find anything.
below is a photo I found on the internet which is identical to my knife.

Would anyone by chance be able to give me some direction or maybe even the proper name of this part?

    Thanks for your time Y'all.

    Doug

The part itself is called a “chape”. I’m pretty sure that’s an old Jarvenpaa Kauhavalainen puukko. Model #1156 is how they label the new ones. They look relatively unchanged though.

I think you are right on the maker. Mine is almost half the size of that one in the link, about 1/4 inch longer than a Candiru.
At least I now have a word to use in searches. :D

    Thank you for the help.
