Front of the sheath would be just begging for some stickers too... Or, make a removable (bolt on) MOLLE field, so you can add pouches for a file, a velcro patch field, etc.

You all must make big poops to need a shovel that big. What the use for this I'm not seeing?

This is actually not a bad idea because I see a shovel as being useful, especially when combined with lye and contractor trash bags. Of course there are already a lot of good "survival" shovels on the market so no sense in reinventing the wheel.

I have a CS Spetsnaz shovel in each of our vehicles here at Chateau Despair. They work, but I’d like a longer handle, slightly larger head and kydex sheath. Serations aren’t my thing but aren’t a deal breaker. I try not to throw my toys so balance as a chopper is more important.

    I’m interested.

    Edited to add:
I see the Boss isn’t interested, I’ll just go spend my money on a Junglas. My wife wants one for her job anyway...

How long do you think the handle should be?

This wont be a folding shovel like the crovel...or have all of the gadgets either. This will be a no nonsense field tool. I think the head needs to be bigger also. + 1 on the kydex sheath.

I think if designed properly, this tool could set the standard. I dont expect everyone to jump on the bandwagon, but at the very least we can dream it up and see what happens!

The CS shovel is like chopping with a hatchet and digging with a plus sized trowel. Personally I’d like the handle to be 25-30% longer. Think camp axe sized. I’m good with a wooden handle but if full tang with slabs can compete weight wise then that works too. Absolutely not interested in a folding shovel.

Your right, wouldn't want someone spotting you using it to paddle the stealth rubber raft:rolleyes: and it'll double as a covert anchor:confused:
Yeah Kydex would take away from the sensation:confused:

It ain't over till it's over.

I am going to buy a normal shovel today and build a life size prototype. I will post it in the DIY forum and in this thread.

My drawing is almost complete too.

if there is no market for it and Jeff doesn't see the point in making one, that's no problem.

Bushy and I will post up a wicked DIY B7 combat shovel thread up for you guys LOL

Awesome!!!!! I may have to follow ya'll direction on that DIY! I keep a tri-fold shovel in my truck's "possible hazards" kit that has the sharpened and serrated sides, but something full tang would be so awesome.

    -non folding
    -one piece carbon steel
-full tang , milled out for weight reduction
    - removable micarta slabs, milled out like lazerstrike scales, textured like PR4 scales
-Slightly longer handle than cs spetznaz , but still backpackable.

Throwable, chopping, slicing, digging, anchor for rope.

Kydex sheath with molle grid for pouch
