I don't know, if someone was breaking into a house, and they heard a chainsaw fire up, I doubt they'd stick around.
Might switch to a battery powered chainsaw for stealth operations.

But it did do well for Ash.

    Run to the bedroom
In the suitcase on the left
    You'll find my favourite axe
    Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase
    One of my bad days
Would you like to watch T.V.?
    Or get between the sheets?

Strig is just doing what we asked him to do. Save the locker room talk for some other forum instead of posting it on serious threads.

Off topic I guess but... Not sure how many of you guys are blind as a bat like me. My contact lense prescription is -5.5

So I'm really in trouble without my glasses. It's one of the things that concerns me the most.

I'm thinking I should get a couple extra pairs, besides just the one at my bedside.

That sounds like a advantage to me, I have a feeling that a crazy naked man with an AK would pose even more traumatizing an effect on any would be home invader than just a regular armed homeowner.

I have the same problem except that I never take my contacts out. I always considered my eyesight as my main weakness in any survival situation. I plan to get Lasik some day.

I've tried that but it drives me insane with drying my eyes out, oh and there was a corneal ulcer once spawned by having a sinus infection. I usually have a pair of eye glasses right by my pistol at night.

Whatever gun, knife, and flashlight I carry on a given day sits on my nightstand and usually an extra flashlight or two. Spare mags for everything are in the nightstand drawer.

60# Elkhound who can sense movement @100 yards out, 80# Lab cross with a “Woof!” that shakes the windows. AR shaped object with Aimpoint H2 and light, loaded with a 20 round PMag beside the bed. Extra 30 round PMag nearby. My pistol d’jour on the bedside table along with an LED upgraded Surefire 6Z and cellphone. Pants from the day loaded with Izula II, Powertac e5 light, Böker slipjoint, keys, holster, spare mag.

I figure all the above is protecting burglars / home invaders from my redheaded wife who is extremely cranky when awakened. ;)

My 45 acp xdM 3.8 with TFO night sights, two spare mags, glasses (like @Zeek I wear contacts), and a light. The 870 is also nearby with a 3 1/2” turkey load in the chamber and 00 buck in the tube.

I keep a chainsaw and a full tank of fuel too (cause I use it). I've removed the chain, though. My wife's kinky. She's just scared I'll accidentally cut the furniture. ;)
