My wife is giving me a choice for my birthday to get an Arsenal AK or take a week long trip to Japan. So I figured I would ask all of you what kind of experiences have you had there? What’s cool things to do and see? We would probably be in the Kyoto maybe Tokyo areas

Not yet, I know plenty about the Arsenal I’m just trying to get as much info as I can before I make the choice.

Been a few years. Kyoto is awesome. Lots of history especially Shinto/Samurai related. Blue collar sushi bars are the best. Much better than tourist or fancy shops. Have to try the whale testicles.

+1 for Kyoto if you like cultural things/areas. Tokyo is remarkable if you like big cities otherwise no.

I’d go arsenal because I don’t like big cities with lots of people.

I have a friend that is from japan. I’d ask her but she currently is in Japan for the next two months. She goes home every winter to visit her parents.

I would love to see Japan, but I don't think I could turn down Arsenal!

ahhhhhh Japan..... I would go back however the National Police suggested I not return for at least 20yrs or they may not only hold me for a little and bundle me on a plane but actually charge me with something......all I can say is don't annoy a horribly jet lagged Australian at the airport and expect no reaction at all....at least the 20yrs is up NEXT year,..... ;)

You can’t say something like that with out telling the story haha need to know so I know what not to do if I do go.
I wouldn’t go until August if I do my birthday is in March but my wife and kids schooling makes it all a bit of a hassle to go anytime sooner. This is the first time in my life I’m thinking I may not need another gun all that much

If you already own guns....take the trip.... seeing new places (outside your comfort zone) can do wonders for your outlook and life...it may show you just how good you really have it at home or what you may now think needs to change....I have done a good deal of travel and it provides years of entertainment for the mind remembering those places and the people you met along the way (even if one of those people got you detained in Japan.....LOL). I still love seeing a place I have visited, especially innocuous ones, on TV or in a book etc.

I've been and I'd definitely take the experience to Japan over the gun. You will always have the opportunity to buy a gun.

    I'm big in Japan!

I have not been but plan to visit the area where Toshitsugu Takamatsu grew up and the caves near the “Sea of Trees” in a few years.

If you get the gun, it will be mostly for you. If you take the trip it will be an experience for you and your family (assuming they are going). If I had the chance to give my kids an experience like that, I'd take it in a heart beat
