So things have finally slowed down a bit on my end and I was able to get a project that I've wanted to try out for awhile. I ordered a Mountain Mike's record keeper skull mounting kit. I mounted my buck I shot two years ago with my recurve. I think it turned out great, no mess, super simple, and it doesn't look bogus. The skull on the left is fake and the skull on the right is a real skull that was beetle cleaned.

It's a great option if you cut your skull but still want a European mount or just don't want to deal with boiling a skull. It was $45 for the kit, they also offer a skull for elk or sheds.

That looks good !! I am just finishing up a Euro mount of the Fallow Buck I took this season. Head is cleaned and treated I just need to get the right timber for the shield/backing.
