I think you may be on to something. The build up is definitely heavier on the sides that have the little dip to drain the pan.

I have thought about this too, but every pan I've seen it just seems like the outside layer is fairly even all the way around, top and bottom. I don't know how drippings would get on the bottom underneath so easily. As well as the other sides where the spouts aren't. Also, wouldn't just the slightest bit of wiping it down on the outside, even occasionally prevent it? I don't know but I would say 90% of the Griswolds and Wagners I see are like this. I don't even know how it doesn't catch on fire if that's all grease build up. Imagine cooking with that on a gas stove? How does it not catch on fire? Or burn off?

We need to ask some really, really old lady. Someone email Mike Perrin.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Could’ve used some vanilla ice cream.

Lodge is 30% off on their website right now. Codeword: figgypudding

Great time to buy your favorite family member, or if you don't like your family, then me, a present for Christmas.

I got f-ing lucky. I stop at the same gas station while I work. I go daily to fill up and I have a good relationship with the cashiers since I see the same ones.

After Thanksgiving I pulled up to the pump and saw some stuff sitting there next to the garbage. It was a 10-1/4 skillet, a 5 qt dutch oven, and a 6 qt camp oven. All brand new Lodge.

I did the right thing by turning it in to the station for "lost and found" but they told me if it's still there by the end of my shift (Wednesday to Wednesday, 7 on, 7 off) they're mine. And I went in yesterday after the longest shift in my 3 years in the oil field to find a little joy. All the pieces were still there.

Free f-ing cast iron. Hell yeah.

I can only guess that someone pulled them out of their trunk to get to something else, then packed up and left without them.

I'd post right now but I'm in the surgery waiting room. My wife is going in for tonsillectomy today.

I'm just grateful the in-laws are here to help watch the baby. It's going to be a long couple of weeks for my wife while she recovers.

I had a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy a few months ago, and then a vasectomy 2 weeks later. If I could go back in time I would have had them take care of both my dangling bits at the same time.

It really wasn't too horrible though. As long as she isn't a smoker, and just takes the doctor's advice about how long to wait to eat/drink.

Speaking of going back in time, if I could I would and then buy a bunch of The Lodge cast-iron. I remember seeing it everywhere for decent prices but thinking that it's not Griswold so I just walk away

Thanks for all the well wishes. She's taking it easy now in post-op. She has to wait a minimum of three hours before she can go. She's not a smoker so it ought to be smooth sailing.

There's a good chance that the first person to cook bacon on this little griddle actually saw the civil war first hand. 20171209_220745.jpg

Found a local guys that is selling these for $15 each. Price is right, but the upside down Wagner logo seems fake to me...
