been following him (no not in creepy Bushman way) for some time. Love his books, his website, and have been pushing myself to learn new skills every time he sends a new skill tip to try via email. this week was learning to tie cordage from plant materials. anyone else follow his tips or subscribe to his ApocaBox? (i plan to subscribe to the monthly box in Dec, a little treat to myself) http://www.creekstewart.com/free-webinar/ http://www.myapocabox.com/
The name "Creek" Stewart always struck me as a bit fabricated, but beyond that he seems like a pretty down to earth guy. You rarely hear anything about him being a diva or pretentious. Actually, the opposite seems true; he's often considered to be the real deal.
I find him non pretentious , and not your typical survival teacher,.......just humble and loves to teach. He seems willing to try everything and weed out the non working tips. and his monthly survival tip subscription is a lot of fun and educational https://www.survivalskillofthemonth.com/subscribe
Ever since we started watching "3 fat guys in the woods", followed by his new show, my wife has started to show an interest in prepping. It's just a spark for now, but planning on fanning that into a flame!
I don’t know what he thinks of the X7 but I do know what I think about it. I love it. Can’t beat it for the price and it comes with a great lifetime warranty!
Unassuming, humble, Eagle Scout: what's not to like about the guy? His T.V. shows don't last long because he teaches skills not drama. I measure T.V. survival "gurus" by how long it takes them to get around to pimping their own brand of custom knife. Creek is on top of my list of good guys along with Matt on this one too. So his grandfather nicknamed him Creek. Just another thing you can't blame him for, and there are already too many Matthew Stewarts in the history books. Well, he does use Alzheimer patients from the local nursing home as slave labor to assemble his ApocaBoxes for free.... JK ;-) And he is dashingly handsome with that blonde pony tail that makes all the ladies swoon. I'm willing to bet that 90% of ApocaBox subscribers are women. Yeah, watch out David, my wife has a thing for him too. So basically, yeah, he's a jerk. I hate him. His ApocaBoxes are fun though.
I don't know what Creek Stewart thinks of it, but I'll throw my 2 cents into the mix. I had one when I was younger. It split my thumb in two, just to the side of the bone, halfway to the first knuckle. Of course, that was my fault entirely. It's a killer little hatchet though, and for the price, I'm not sure you can do much better. It both scares me due to my past with it, and excites me because it's so awesome. It scare-rouses me. I now own three of em.
Of all the guys on TV, I think Creek is about as real as you can get. Of course they have to do some setups for TV simply due to time but the guy seems to be really squared away on his skills. I like him.
I concur with you and @Michael W. about the Fiskars: great little hatchet for the money. This is my second one. I owned one in (calculating) 2013, then caught the Gransfors Bruks bug, owned a few of them. Now I'm back to the X7 (and have passed on the GB's. Don't get me wrong: GB rocks. But this little X7 does it better for me. I look forward to the day when ESEE produces it's first hatchet. I'll own one. Until then, X7. I need to search out some videos of Creek. I don't own a TV, but Youtube is vast.
I posted this before on the old forum when folks were laughing at his dress and persona. I saw him out away from the crowds without his coonskin cape. Like something from a good samaritan textbook, he dashed across a parking lot to open the door for an elderly couple. What is that old saying about what folks do when they think no one is watching...something-something. He also, at least in my experience, would yammer all day about the outdoors without promoting his products. He could be a charlatan since someone said he cooked a rattlesnake, but sounded legit in all my interactions and still sends my son updates on events and such.
