I've been sewing my ass off lately and thought I'd share one of the many projects I've been working on .

So I cut my first DIY hammock in half and made a hammock chair/gear sling/pet hammock.
This one is made from 1.9oz Ripstop and the suspension is made from 7/64 Amsteel.
It's about 4' long and a standard width of Ripstop.

It was fun project and it's pretty darn comfortable.
I'm in the process of ordering more fabric so I can make an updated version for both the wife and I using 1.6 HyperD Xl instead of the 1.9oz Ripstop. It will be a lot softer on the skin and the extended width will help with the whole "hotdog bun" feeling you get when you don't have the suspension setup just right.

I'm hoping the updated versions turn out better than this. I'm not the best at sewing, but it sure is fun. :)

Updated version I made this week. Same 1.9oz ripstop in black. It's longer and wider than the original. Feels pretty good
